I’m not sure if kayaking is for me? Can I do it?

Our 'Duo Duckies' (inflatable kayaks for two) are built for novices, providing a comfortable and stable experience where all you have to do is enjoy the scenery!

We have 32 rivers on the West Coast so there is sure to be one here to suit you. When you make a booking we will ask you some questions to find out what your abilities are and the type of experience you would like so we can match you with a rainforest experience you’ll really enjoy. We even have flat rivers for families or those wanting a relaxing experience in some beautiful places.

Will I get wet?

We supply you with everything you need to keep warm and dry. Thermal clothing, river shoes, gloves helmets and lifejackets will keep you nice and comfortable. And if you can't swim it does not matter as we give you a personal safety floatation device.

Will I fall out?

It is unlikely that you’ll fall out if you use our wide inflatable kayaks. You’ll be taught how to paddle your kayak and your guide will be with you at all times for support. But just in case, we teach you how to keep safe at all times before you get on the river.

So you’re all set for a fun half day in these pristine Rainforest rivers finishing up with hot showers and a spa.

Just choose your trip:

Flat Water (FUNYAKF): A leisurely float trip on mirror like waters where you can get up close to nature with these giant trees of the rainforests. You’ll often see a range of birdlife on these trips. Allow 4 hours.

Whitewater Action(FUNYAKW): Class 2 or 3 whitewater adds some challenge to your day. Fun rapids and beautiful canyons, the perfect blend of nature and adventure. Allow 4 hours.

Romance on the river? Hike, Hotpools & Kayak Combo (FUNYAKT): A one hour wilderness walk where you share the carrying of your folded up kayak (22kg, 49lb) to some secret natural thermal spas. Soak up the heat with your partner in these magic surroundings before doing fun rapids on the down river run home. Allow 6 hours and bring your lunch for this one.
 

What do I bring? All you need is a swim suit or spare set of underwear and a towel.

Where do I check in? 8 Whall Str, Greymouth.

It’s in the town centre next to McDonalds. We transfer you from there to the river. You can save time by meeting us at some rivers. Check with us.

What time? 8:00am or 1:15pm everyday of the year except Christmas.

Morning tours finish in time to catch buses and the train.

Cancellations: We do not take any money off your credit card and you pay how you like on the day, but once you have booked your trip with us, if you do not turn up there is a 100% cancellation fee taken off the card, so you do need to be sure everyone does want to go. You can cancel outside of 72 hours prior to the tour date without any charges if you want to.
